Italian Aged Care Incorporated (IACI) came to NCIS Group looking for a network solution capable of providing the highest level of residential care services to meet the needs of the local community.

IACI is in the final stages of constructing a new residential aged care building on the Marangaroo site in Perth, WA.

The new building as part of the overall facility will be comprised of approximately 82 bedrooms.

The first stage of their site redevelopment is expected to enhance the quality of life and care for the local aging community. By adding fast connectivity at their fingertips, residents can enjoy a more stimulated, active mind.

It is a crucial infrastructure for aging communities that are looking for facilities that cater to their spiritual, social and personal preferences… this facility is desperately needed.

And for NCIS Project Director – Integration, Richard Stach, meeting customer expectations from a design and engineering perspective was crucial.

“Once we had the final layout design, OSA was partnering with us to help us design the best solution with their products and assist us and guide us throughout this whole process.

Once we got the concept through to IACI and key stakeholders, we progressed to the building works.”

Connecting these bedrooms and catering for all the various demands of an aged care facility requires industry-leading brands. OSA knew exactly which solutions would meet the need.

OSA is the exclusive International Certified Partner for Calix in Australia. Calix is a leading global provider of broadband communications access systems and software. NCIS Group is a Certified Authorised Integrator Partner of OSA/Calix.

And because OSA was able to supply Calix’s GPON technology, IACI through NCIS now has access to sustainable, high-end e-Health solutions, enabling residents to maintain an important connection with their families and friends.

“We’ve always made sure that the product is according to the customer’s expectations and beyond,” Richard says.

OSA was also able to supply solutions from a select group of world-class vendors, including Teleste, Aruba and Ruckus Wireless Wifi. These vendors work in partnership with OSA to create bespoke, future-proofed integrated network solutions.

OSA supplied all of the comms equipment to NCIS for the aged care facility, including GPON Head-End Infrastructure, FTA, Satellite TV, integrated MATV solution, with integration to a full IP security system, IP CCTV, access control and wireless access points.

And thanks to OSA’s supply, communications access will be available across the entire facility, boosting the quality of care and efficiency facility-wide.

OSA has the ability to think quickly and find the right solution to any problems that arise.

And undoubtedly on projects of this scale, problems are bound to come up.

“The pre-construction process was very long,” says Dean.

“We had to work through the consultants, then work with the builders and ultimately, wait for the construction to start. It’s a long-term sales process, certainly not a quick opportunity.”

As for Richard, dealing with the builders meant that delivery schedules needed to be on track. Nothing can slow them down…

“We’ve been working closely with OSA to make sure delivery schedules are being met, the right products are being sourced and installed and even commissioning the services.

OSA has helped us to make sure we deliver the best solution we can to our clients.”

Meeting customers’ expectations with secure data and devices was also crucial, and required expert knowledge. Richard believes it was of the utmost importance.

“It’s important that we made sure that the amount of data going through each point was meeting requirements for the next five-plus years so that we’re not bottlenecking any of the services that they will have, whether it’s for the nurse call or security.

We needed to make sure the design, equipment and devices that we selected met the future needs.”

In the end, NCIS was able to deliver a secure, reliable and robust comms network for IACI, thanks to the comms solutions proposed by OSA.

Dean finds the process of working with OSA collaborative, efficient and reliable.

“It’s been a collaborative approach with Eugene and his team all along the way. They’ve supported us on this journey for about five years in regards to GPON technology.

And they’ve supported us through technical understanding, briefings, client meetings, showcasing the product and selection of the product.”
